Planning the Development of Ninh Chu National Tourism Area on Both Land and Sea

The 11th Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Council has passed a resolution approving the master plan for the development of Ninh Chu National Tourism Area until 2045, covering a total area of approximately 10,200 hectares on land and 2,000 hectares at sea.

At the 22nd session of the 11th term, the Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Council issued a resolution approving the master plan for the development of the "Ninh Chu National Tourism Area, Ninh Thuan Province, until 2045.

This is one of 28 resolutions adopted at this session of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People’s Council.

According to the master plan, the Ninh Chu National Tourism Area plays a vital role in promoting socio-economic development, particularly tourism, for Ninh Thuan Province specifically and the South Central Coastal region in general.

The scope and boundaries of the planning study cover approximately 10,200 hectares of land and 2,000 hectares dedicated to developing areas for tourism and service activities at sea.

The general planning boundary for the Ninh Chu National Tourism Area encompasses the coastal space of Ninh Thuan Province, including parts of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City and the districts of Thuan Bac, Ninh Hai, Ninh Phuoc, and Thuan Nam.

According to Ninh Thuan’s development forecast, by 2035, the Ninh Chu National Tourism Area is expected to attract about 5.9 million visitors (including approximately 743,000 international visitors), and by 2045, it aims to welcome about 9.84 million visitors (including approximately 1.5 million international visitors).

The resolution also outlines three development strategies and eight functional zones based on the specific characteristics of each area to focus on development.

Specifically, the strategy aims for the Ninh Chu National Tourism Area to become a sustainable, distinctive, and world-class national tourism destination by 2035. Marine economy development will be prioritized, emphasizing connections with local specialty economic sectors, while addressing environmental and social issues in a sustainable manner to attract resources.

The entire Ninh Chu coastal strip is divided into eight development zones, including: A high-end resort area stretching from Binh Tien to Bai Thung; A natural ecological conservation area and the Thai An vineyard.

Additional zones include: An experiential tourism zone combined with sports and the Thanh Hai urban area; The coastal strip of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City and Dam Nai; The southern Dinh River area; The Mui Dinh sand dune area; And the southern coastal road area of the province.

Earlier, on February 23th, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 266/QD-TTg, approving the general planning tasks for the construction of the Ninh Chu National Tourism Area, Ninh Thuan Province, until 2045.
