Openning direction to develop Mui Dinh Tourist Area

The area of Mui Dinh (Thuan Nam District) has a unique and attractive natural landscape with potentials with vast white sand dunes, mixed with mountains and clear blue sea. Additionally, the coastal route creating favorable conditions for travel, recently, it has attracted a large number of tourists to visit and experience. In order to promote the value of the land rich in tourism development potential, the province has built a subdivision plan to build Mui Dinh to become the center of tourism and develop the marine economy of the province.

According to the decision approving the Construction Zoning Planning Project (1/2000 scale) of Mui Dinh area (Thuan Nam) of the Provincial People's Committee, the area of Mui Dinh has a scale of 1,256 ha in the territory of 2 communes of Phuoc Dinh and Phuoc Diem (Thuan Nam), the East borders the sea, the West borders the mountains, the South borders Ca Na General Port and the North borders Son Hai sea village. With Mui Dinh sand dunes, Mui Dinh lighthouse, many valleys beside mountains, facing the sea and clean and pristine beaches, these are very suitable conditions for developing experience activities, tourism service points, forming a tourist area. Coastal tourism is associated with high-class, specific and modern eco-tourism products, associated with conservation of natural landscapes towards sustainable development.

According to the approved plan, the land use planning of the construction area covers an area of more than 675 hectares (accounting for 53.76%) including land for tourism service, mixed commerce, theme parks, green land and traffic road. Land for the non-construction area has a total area of 580.8 ha (46.24%) including: sand dunes park, landscape protection land, trees and beaches... Orientation for spatial development of the Mui Dinh area will include three main types, which are: marine space, typical landscape space and protected green space. Each type of space will be oriented to appropriate forms of exploitation and management according to each specific project, limiting the impact on the natural environment, increasing the landscape and economic value for the area. Moreover, it is to approach the needs of rest, satisfy the entertainment needs of tourists and to integrate and develop together with international tourism, it is necessary to have complexes of works, ecological tourism zones, and high-end resorts.

Within the scope of Mui Dinh tourism development planning, there are 6 locations calling for investment projects stretching along the coast to maximize the advantages of terrain, land and landscape such as: Ca Na Ecotourism Area Project (16 ha), Royal Ninh Thuan Luxury Resort (87.5 ha), Mui Dinh Sun Resort (25.36 ha), Ba Be Lake Resort (10 ha), Mui Dinh Bay Tourist Area (10 ha) and Mui Dinh Ecopark (766 ha). According to the planning, the population forecast converted to the level of regular stay in the planned area is about 9,600 people; the maximum capacity scale when filling up construction investment projects in the tourist area is approximately over 28,000 rooms. Based on the approved construction zoning planning, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned relevant divisions, coordinated with Thuan Nam District People's Committee to organize the preparation of detailed construction planning projects according to regulations as a basis to implement construction investment projects and grant construction permits; at the same time, develop plans and lists to mobilize resources to call for investment in projects and strengthen the direction of construction order management according to the approved planning.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction said: The planning of construction subdivisions in Mui Dinh area is in order to concretize the general planning for construction of tourist areas in the South of the province by 2035 approved by the Provincial People's Committee as a basis for the implementation of detailed planning projects, formulation of investment projects and implementation of the master plan. This is to create a basis for implementing the next steps of management of construction investment and development of tourism zones; to systematically build a synchronous social and technical infrastructure system, protect and improve the quality of the environment, create resources, form key projects, and contribute to the development motivation for Thuan Nam coastal area and socio-economic development of the province in general.
