Cham Bani, Islam Ninh Thuan people organize Ramuwan festival 2022
The Ramuwan New Year in 2022 of the Cham Bani and Islam people of Ninh Thuan province will be held from March 31 to April 2, 2022. Every year, the Ramuwan New Year takes place with many meaningful activities to reward the public, pay filial piety, and the living roots for the deceased such as performing grave digging ceremonies at cemeteries and offering prayers at home to invite Mr. ancestral grandmothers with their children and grandchildren… Besides, pray for peace for the village, a prosperous home, happy people, and good crops. After Ramuwan New Year, dignitaries, officials, and believers perform rituals during the month of fasting at Bani pagodas and mosques in the province; the implementation period will be until May 3, 2022.
After days of joyful festivals, Cham Bani villages enter the solemn month of fasting Ramuwan. Ramuwan fasting begins on the 1st and ends on the 30th of the 9th month of the lunar calendar. The closing day was held very solemnly at the cathedral. During Ramuwan, the Bani dignitaries live in the mosque and are only allowed to eat and drink when the sun has set. The Bani dignitaries believe that performing the month of fasting is to make the body and mind pure. The dignitaries restrained trivial desires, mobilizing believers towards a life of truth and beauty.
Every Cham Bani person takes time to go to the sanctuary to calm down, reflect on their actions in the past year, evaluate themselves and remove distractions to live a better life. At the same time, pray to the ancestors for a good new year. The month of Ramuwan of the Cham Bani people is a religious activity with bold spiritual beliefs of the local people. With the tradition of hospitality, Cham people welcome friends, colleagues, and relatives near and far to wish Tet very thoughtful and warm. The more guests come to wish, the more excited people are and consider it a belief in a new year with favorable rain and wind, profitable crops, a peaceful, healthy, happy family, good children in school, and good luck in life. Ramuwan festival is a cultural and spiritual product drawn from the religious traditions of Cham residents, contributing to enriching the national cultural identity. The families of their clans unite to help each other do business to build a richer and more beautiful homeland.
